Popular athleisure brand Puma took a jibe at the Chennai Super Kings after they suffered their fourth consecutive loss to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League. The defending champions were up against the five-time IPL winners in their lone group-stage clash of the IPL 2026 season. The game saw the Super Kings slumping to the hosts for the fourth consecutive time in the global T20 league. Not only this, but the occasion also marked their third straight loss of the season.
As the defending champions recorded another blowout win over the Yellow Army, fans and experts took to social media to troll the Ruturaj Gaikwad-led side. Amongst them is the leading athleisure brand, Puma, which also didn’t leave a chance to roast the Chennai-based franchise for the defeat. The brand took to their social media, wrote, “This is not a rivalry anymore…”
It is to be noted that Puma is a major sponsor and the official kit partner for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the IPL. They signed a deal with the cricket team in 2021, and their partnership with the franchise extends to WPL as well. Their tweet comes after the fact that the rivalry between RCB and CSK has seen a huge boost from the last few editions. It is because of the colossal fan bases on both sides as well as the presence of Indian legends- MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli on either ends.
