Nitish Kumar came in with positive intent and built a partnership with Steven Taylor for the second wicket. In the final over of the powerplay, Steven Taylor lost his wicket and USA were reduced to 43/2 and were in trouble.
England bowlers absolutely dominated the middle overs and leg-spinner Adil Rashid bowled an outstanding spell picking up the wickets of Aaron Jones and Nitish Kumar. Rashid finished his four over spell picking up two wickets while giving away only 13 runs. The United States of America were under all sorts of pressure and Chris Jordan delivered a masterclass at the death as USA were bowled out for 115 in the 19th over of the innings.
Chris Jordan picked up a hat-trick in the 19th over as USA crumbled from 115/7 to 115 all out. Jordan picked up the wicket of Ali khan and then followed it up by dismissing Kenjige. He completed the hat-trick by picking up the wicket of Saurabh Nertravalkar and finished with four wickets in the game. It was a below par total and a dominant performance from England.
Chasing the target, England openers went all guns blazing in the powerplay and completed the chase with ease as they won the match by ten wickets. Jos Buttler smashed an unbeaten 83 as England chased down the target within ten overs. Adil Rashid was the player of the match and it was a complete performance from the English side.
