On this day, March 16,2010: RCB chased down a massive total against KXIP in a high scoring thriller. It was the KXIP who were batting first and the openers started really well. Manvinder Bisla and Ravi Bopara put up a 129-run partnership for the opening wicket. Ravi Bopara scored 77 runs off 50 balls while Manvinder Bisla smashed 75 off 51 balls. It was a terrific partnership from the duo and had put the KXIP side in a very strong position. However, they lost a couple of wickets in quick time.

Mahela Jayawardene provided them with a terrific finish as he smashed an unbeaten 26 off just 13 balls. Kings XI Punjab posted a massive total of 203/3 at the end of the first innings. Dale Steyn, Praveen Kumar and Kallis picked up one wicket each for RCB but overall Kings XI Punjab were right on top at the halfway mark.

Chasing a target of more than 200, Royal Challengers Bengaluru got a pretty good start scoring 74 runs for the opening partnership. Manish Pandey and Kallis started really well and kept up with the scoring rate. Manish Pandey was dismissed for 38 by Chawla. Robin Uthappa walked into the middle and got going straight away. He smashed a terrific 51 of just 21 balls before getting dismissed. His knock gave RCB a huge momentum and it included four sixes and as many fours. After losing Uthappa, it was Kohli and Kallis who put on an unbeaten partnership as RCB cruised through the chase.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru chased down the target in the 19th over and won the game with an over to spare and eight wickets in hand. It was a high scoring thriller that had everyone at the edge of their seats. Kallis finished with an unbeaten 89 off just 55 balls while Kohli finished on 16 and it was a comfortable win for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru. It was a memorable chase and one of the high scoring thrillers which the fans witnessed in that season.
