India were recently in for some rude shock as they were unable to upset Ireland while playing the two match T20 International series in Ireland. To have been caught napping is natural, it happens all the time, but to have been completely outlaid, all the departments of the game is something that India probably would never have expected. And that it happened under the captaincy of the recently appointed T20 skipper Shreyas Iyer was quite disappointing. Perhaps, perhaps something that neither India’s devoted Cricket fan or himself would have come to expect. But it’s what it is.
After the two nil loss suffered at the hands of Ireland , the focus has now shifted to the next assignment on this white ball tour of India in the UK, where the visiting Indian side are set to face England in a comprehensive white ball series.
After five match T20 series, there is going to be three one day Internations against England, which will take place in England, and that’s the next big massive challenge for India as a side.
The Focus is to get the ball rolling and hit the right quarters in all departments of the game, especially batting and bowling.

While India do not have to contest with the lakes of Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Jaffer archer in the soon to begin T20 International series, the team would still have to contest with what is visibility powerful, looking England site as far as the shortest format is concerned. England have the likes of Harry Brook leading from the front as captain, with the skipper supported by the likes of Jacob Bethell, Jos Buttler, Will Jacks and Phil Salt in charge of batting.
And right ahead of the start of the series, the skipper Shreyas Iyer had the following insights to share with the media in what could be an evenly and closely contested series.
“Each individual playing in the team has performed, it’s not like one individual is performing. We’ve to build security and back our players at the same time, so they can gain confidence. Players who won us the last WC have a fair idea on how to play the format, they’ve been main pillars in T20s, so you need to back them!”.

It is believed that Iyer’s comments were in reference to the big Vaibhav Sooryavanshi question. The talks of the blazing and talented left hander being included in the playing XI have since the start of the very tour been a definitive point of discussion with many wondering as to when might the cricket fan finally get to see the attacking batter included in the Indian side.
He was not played in either of the last two T20 games and with big names such Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma and the Ishan Kishan forming an important part of the top three of Team India, the big question still remains as to when and where might the talented young batter be accommodated in the Indian set up. Hopefully, the series against England might have an answer to that big dilemma.
