Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) continues its annual "Go Green" initiative for the 2026 IPL season, wearing special green jerseys made from 100% recycled waste to raise awareness about environmental sustainability. The initiative, a tradition since 2011, includes eco-friendly measures like restoring city lakes, planting trees, and encouraging fans to reduce their carbon footprint.

The initiative aims to raise awareness about global warming, environmental protection, and the importance of sustainability. Since 2011, RCB has dedicated one home match per season to this cause, with the captain presenting a plant to the opposing captain at the toss. Beyond the jersey, RCB has historically worked on initiatives like waste segregation, lake restoration (e.g., 44 acres in South Bengaluru), and promoting green certification for schools.

The design features a navy-to-emerald gradient, a golden lion crest with a victory star, and sponsors like Sun Pharma and Nothing Smartphones. Authentic ones are priced at 5,499 INR and replicas at 2,299 INR. RCB is going to wear this jersey on 18th April in their match against DC.

Unlike the team’s regular red and black colours, the green jersey is not a permanent change. RCB wears this special kit for one designated home match every Indian Premier League (IPL) season. The initiative, first introduced in 2011, is aimed at spreading awareness about environmental sustainability using cricket’s wide reach.
