As per the latest reports coming in, there is a huge rift in the Pakistan dressing room after the Super 8 stage exit in the 2026 WT20. Pakistan suffered a heavy defeat against India in the group stage but still managed to enter the Super 8 stage where they were knocked out after getting only one win in those three games. This is the fourth straight ICC tournament that Pakistan have failed to qualify for the semi-finals and there has been huge scrutiny over the team. A few days back reports emerged that all the Pakistan players have been fined a huge amount after their poor outing in the WT20.

However, now there is a rift inside the dressing room of the Pakistan Cricket team. As per reports several players have lodged a complaint with the Pakistan Cricket Board against head coach Mike Hesson over his conduct. Players have alleged that Mike Hesson follows a rigid approach and takes unilateral decisions. In the past it has been seen that Hesson has a huge say in whatever goes on in the team and he has always been blunt in press conferences.

A source inside Pakistan Cricket Board has also said that PCB is preparing to formally warn Mike Hesson. It will be very interesting to see how this pans out. PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi is set to take a call and there could be plenty of repercussions if the players were right in their complaints. Mike Hesson took over the role of coaching from Gary Kirsten and in the past PCB have sacked coaches like Kirsten and Gillespie immediately after an assignment.

Pakistan will now go to Bangladesh to play in the ODI series which will begin on March 11 and with Mike Hesson also being the ODI coach it remains to be seen what happens in the coming days. Pakistan have already announced their squad for the ODI series against Bangladesh. The big news is that Babar Azam has been dropped from the squad for that series along with Saim Ayub.
