England all-rounder Sam Curran has made a massive statement before the semi-final match against India on March 5th. Speaking to the media ahead of the match. Sam Curran said that he is hopeful of silencing the Wankhede crowd in that clash. A similar statement was made by Pat Cummins before the 2023 World Cup Final where he spoke about silencing the crowd and he did achieve it as Australia went on to win the World Cup eventually.
Now Sam Curran has started playing the mind games ahead of the big game. Sam Curran said “We’re not fearing anything and I’m sure both teams are really excited by the challenge. If the crowd are silent, England are probably going to be doing well. That’s our positive way of looking at it.

This is the third consecutive time both India and England will be meeting in a semi-final of the T20 World Cup. The previous two affairs were one sided with India winning in 2024 and England winning 2022. Both India and England have not had it easy so far in this WT20. While India struggled a bit against USA in the opening match and lost the Super 8 match against South Africa. Their bowling has not been clinical in most games and India have the lowest catch percentage in this World Cup and have been awful in the field.
England scraped past win against Nepal by four runs and were defeated by West Indies. In the Super 8 stages, England went unbeaten winning all the three matches but in all of those games they were in trouble and managed to still win the game. So, both teams will admit that they are yet to play their best cricket and in this upcoming semi-final we might see one of them turn up.
