Scotland have announced their 15 member squad for the upcoming 2026 WT20 in India and Sri Lanka. They were the last minute entrants after Bangladesh pulled out. Richie Berrington will lead the Scotland squad and they have named a pretty strong one. One of the most noticeable inclusions has been that of former New Zealand player Tom Bruce. He has been picked up in the side and will bolster their batting lineup. Matthew Cross retains his spot as the wicket-keeper in the side.

Micheal Jones and George Munsey are likely to open the batting with all-rounders McMullen, Micheal Leask adding value in the middle order. Mark Watt will spearhead the spin attack and with options of Leask and Greaves. Safyaan Sharif, Bradley Wheal and Bradley Currie form a strong pace bowling attack and pacer Zainullah Ihsan has been picked up for the first time since becoming eligible. Scotland have also named Jack Jarvis and Jasper Davidson as the travelling reserve while three more players are in the non travelling reserve.

Scotland had participated in the inaugural edition of the tournament, nearly two decades back in 2007. Afghanistan born fast bowler, Zainullah Ihsan gets a call up having recently qualified to play for Scotland. Former Kiwi batter Tom Bruce will boost up their batting lineup. The 34-year-old Bruce has featured in 17 T20Is for New Zealand before he changed his allegiance to Scotland.

Speaking about Ihsan inclusion, Head of performance Steve Snell said “There’s obviously a great opportunity for Zainullah Ihsan, and whenever he’s played at youth level or for the “A” squad he’s shown an exciting range of skills and bowled at genuine pace. We’re delighted for him and excited to see how he performs on his first international tour.” He added.
