Shreyas Iyer was the skipper of the Kolkata Knight Riders Team when they won the IPL trophy of 2024 after 10 years, but then KKR released him ahead of the Mega Auction citing the reason of high money demands, and then he was acquired as skipper for the Punjab Kings.
After the KKR vs PBKS match was abandoned, KKR and PBKS both shared one point each. Shresta Iyer, sister of Shreyas Iyer, was seen posting a trolling video on her Instagram Account. In the video, she said jokingly, “Saade Punjabiyan da dil vadda hunda hai, lo de ditta ek point,” which translates to “Punjabis have a big heart. Take the one point.”
This led to a lot of backlash by fans who brought in an answer to this video, as KKR has 3 trophies, whereas PBKS has none, so there should be decency to everything.
“Guys, I don't understand why the hatred is being spread. It's just a game. The videos are just for fun, and I am here to support my brother. I will continue to do that. No hate for any team, it's just a game. Everyone should take it sportingly,” said Shresta in a video shared on Instagram Stories. “I understand aggression. I wasn't trolling anybody. It was my way of celebration, and I am going to continue doing that. I am just here to say no hate for anybody. Only love is a game. We all should have fun. The rivalry should show, no matter what. There were no personal attacks, just chill. Peace out, guys,” she added.

KKR in IPL 2026 is having a dry run. Their main bowlers had been suffering injury, and the batting order is seen not having clarity of roles, even Captain Ajinkya Rahane seems clueless, which led to their two-match defeat back-to-back, placing them at the bottom of the table. On the other hand, PBKS is seen as a strong team this season with 2 wins and a balanced squad, so the prediction was that PBKS would have defeated KKR, but rain played a spoilsport in Eden Gardens. After 3.4 overs with KKR struggling at 25 for two, the players were taken off. Persistent rain meant the match could not resume, resulting in the first washout of the season.
The washout helped KKR finally open their account after back-to-back defeats, although they are still searching for their first win of the season. PBKS, meanwhile, moved to the top of the points table with five points from three matches, having registered two wins and one no-result so far. This made a lot of fans joke and even the PBKS official media handle posted in a mocking way, “ 1 point Paani mai gaya”. This was looked down on by many fans, just like Shresta Iyer’s Video.
