The Sunrisers Hyderabad were not off to the best of starts in the season as they won just one game in the first four games. After that poor start, they were then off to one of the most formidable winning-streaks in the tournament. The return of Pat Cummins gave the team a much needed boost in mid-season and things started to come in favour of SRH. The form of their openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head was great in the process. Heinrich Klaasen proved to be the best middle-order batter in the season and he has been phenomenal.
SRH suffered a massive setback in the game against the Gujarat Titans as they lost by 82 runs and it proved to be a huge hit on their Net Run Rate. They have 14 points in their bag and they have two big games left in the tournament. Here are the qualification scenarios for the Orange Army:
Scenario 1: The Guaranteed Playoff Spot - 18 points
If SRH win both of their upcoming games against RCB and CSK, they will finish on 18 points. Then their qualification won’t be dependent on the results of other teams and they could be in contention for a spot at the top of the table.

Scenario 2: One Foot into the Playoffs
If SRH wins just one of their remaining fixtures, they will reach the historical landmark of 16 points which indirectly guarantees a spot in the top 4. To ensure their qualification, they would ideally want that one victory to come against CSK. Defeating CSK will directly limit their maximum points to 14 points.
If they finish on 16 points, they will likely tie with teams like Punjab Kings (PBKS), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), or Rajasthan Royals (RR). At that point, their main advantage would be the healthy run rate that they have as it could give them the edge over the other sides. They will have to avoid defeats by huge margins.

Scenario 3: Worst case scenario
If SRH loses to both CSK and RCB, they stay on 14 points. With teams like PBKS, RR, and CSK still in the race, all have the mathematical ability to cross 14 points. No victories could result in the obvious elimination of the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
