The Royal Challengers Bengaluru have gotten off to an explosive start in the powerplay with some muscle power. Venkatesh Iyer has made the most of his opportunity with some phenomenal power-hitting, especially against Shivang Kumar. Virat Kohli wasn’t handed much of the strike as he was rotating the strike all along but did get some good boundaries as well. After the wicket of Venkatesh Iyer, Devdutt Padikkal came in to bat at number 3 and he started off with a boundary in the very first ball that he faced.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad wasn’t exactly able to control the leakage of runs in the first half of the powerplay, but they were able to pick wickets in the crucial moments. Venkatesh Iyer was connecting the ball really well and Abhishek Sharma capitalised on the first real opportunity with a good catch. Sakib Hussain got the breakthrough with the very important wicket of Virat Kohli and that really hit the RCB bowling unit hard. It will be a difficult path for RCB from here on in and they will be keen on securing their spot at the top 2.
Fans praise Venkatesh Iyer’s explosive powerplay knock while SRH fight back strongly with big wickets
The viewers on X were once again impressed with the batting of Venkatesh Iyer as he brought up RCB’s first 50-run opening stand with Virat Kohli since April 18. On the other hand, SRH have chipped in quite well with a couple of quick wickets. Here are some of the reactions on X:
