“There is a little bit of nervousness”: Ishan Kishan's parents after his innings against Pakistan

An NDTV reporter asked Ishan Kishan’s parents for their reaction to their son’s match-winning performance. Ishan’s father said, "That innings was good. He is an opener, so he has to score some runs for the team. But when we were coming to defend against the opponent, the wickets that fell early on, Bumrah took two, and Hardik took a wicket after bowling the first maiden over, that was a big turning point."

His mother said, "Many, many congratulations to the Indian team. Heartfelt congratulations! They won the match so well. And many blessings, it is Mahashivratri, so there is the full blessing of Lord Shankar. All the spectators of India, everyone who loves India, must have been praying. Everyone must have been worshipping Lord Shankar for a victory, and God gave us that victory. There is a little bit of nervousness, but then you forget everything because it’s a match, and you just keep your focus on God."

India lost their first wicket on just 1 run, but Ishan Kishan played his innings and smashed a total of 77 runs in 40 balls, including 10 fours and 3 sixes. Apart from him, no other batters from either side were able to score even a single fifty.

Thanks to his innings, India put up a total of 175 runs in 20 overs, and the Indian bowlers did the remaining work. Hardik and Bumrah started amazingly well with the new ball, taking 3 early wickets in the first 2 overs. The Spinners also did their job. Varun Chakravarthy and Axar Patel took 2 wickets each, while Kuldeep and Tilak got 1 wicket each. India all-out Pakistan on just 114 runs and won the match by 61 runs.
