Ujjain Falcon’s captain Chnachal Rathore scored a scintillating 56 runs off 38 balls on the MPL 2026 5th match against Malwa Stallions at the Holkar Stadium on Friday. After winning their season opener against Gwalior Cheetahs by 92 runs, the Falcons definitely wanted to keep the spirits high in the second match, trying to cement their position at the top of the table early on.

Winning the toss, Ujjain Falcons opted to bat first. Yash Dubey was bowled early on by Vineet Rawat in the 5th over, but that didn’t stop Chanchal Rathore from going all guns blazing against Malwa’s bowling attack. After Subham Kushwah too departed early, scoring 10 runs, it was Chanchal Rathore and Madhav Tiwari’s partnership that stole the spotlight. Both the captain and vice captain took scores to 127 in just 13 overs. But both eventually got out back-to-back in the 14th over by Ashutosh Sharma.

Rathore and Tiwari have been in sublime form since the first game. Rathore scored an aggressive knock of 33 in 17 balls, taking Ujjain’s score to just 53 in the first five overs against Gwalior Cheetahs. But the pomp and show was Madhav Tiwari, whose blistering 62 off 31 balls helped Falcons to post a massive total of 221/6. The Cheetahs eventually were bowled out for 129, giving Ujjain their first win of the season.
