
Star Indian batter Virat Kohli arrived in Bengaluru on Monday, 22nd June for his fitness test ahead of the upcoming tour of England. India will play five T20I matches and three ODI matches in the tour of England. Virat Kohli who is currently part of only the ODI format has arrived for his fitness test. The squad for England ODI series was announced a few days back and Virat Kohli who missed the Afghanistan ODI series due to injury was selected in the squad for England ODIs.
However, during the announcement of the squad, it was mentioned that Virat Kohli was selected based on subject to fitness. This means Virat Kohli has to get his clearance from COE which is why he came to Bengaluru on Monday. Virat Kohli was spotted at the Bengaluru airport and the pictures went viral on social media. Virat Kohli was seen wearing a plain black shirt, black pant, white shoes and a small bag in his hand. Virat Kohli had completed his initial fitness test in London but he had to travel to Bengaluru and get his final mandatory fitness clearance from the COE which is scheduled by the BCCI ahead of the series against England. It is highly likely that Virat Kohli will pass the test and be part of the crucial one day series against England.
Virat Kohli gears up for England ODI series
This is a crucial series for Virat Kohli who missed the Afghanistan series due to a hamstring injury. After the IPL 2026 final, Virat Kohli suffered a hamstring injury and had to miss the series due to injury. Virat Kohli has set his sights on the 2027 World Cup and has been in stellar form in the ODI format. His one day record has been outstanding and with the 2027 World Cup in sight he will be keen to get some runs under his belt in the England tour.
Virat Kohli has a good ODI record against England where he has played 38 matches and scored 1397 runs at an average of more than 40. His overall One Day record is sublime and he is the leading century getter in this format. His record in England in the ODI format is pretty good as he averages more than 50 having scored 1349 runs. He will be keen to make his mark and fans are excited to watch the superstar in action for Team India.
