Rajasthan Royals are set to play their first match in the Baraspora Stadium in Guwahati under the guidance of their new leader, Riyan Parag. Parag also led a few matches for the Royals last year as Sanju Samson played as an impact player due to his injury. The Rajasthan Royals have been one of the most anticipated teams of this year due to the presence of top players like Yashaswi Jaiswal, Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Riyan Parag.
Dhruv Jurel, who rose to headlines with his breakthrough in 2023, where he played as a finisher for the Royals. His IPL stint also earned him the test cap in 2024 in the series against England, where he proved his grit. In 2023, Jurel scored 152 runs in 11 innings at a strike rate of 172.72. The Rajasthan player scored 195 runs in 11 innings in 2024 at a strike rate of 138.29.
Jurel had a rather disappointing 2025 season, where the team trusted him in several crucial moments, but he couldn’t deliver the results. He finished the last season with 333 runs in 14 matches, but couldn't contribute to the team.
Jurel’s disappointing T20I stint
Dhruv Jurel made his T20I debut in 2024 against Zimbabwe under the leadership of Shubman Gill. Till now, Jurel has played only 4 international matches, but hasn’t had his breakthrough.
However, in a recent training video shared by the RR social media team, Jurel was seen hitting five balls in an over for monstrous boundaries. The post was captioned with,’ Wait for the comeback”
The prophecy of the post would now only be proved in RR’s match against CSK on March 30, where both teams are coming with their young squads to race towards the title.
