Perhaps it’s not a good idea to exchange words with Virat Kohli on the cricket ground. Then, it becomes something even more crucial to not do when the King is involved in a high octane contest such as the Indian Premier League where he plays for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. Then, if you are an Australian, you are advised to better watch out. Past skirmishes with talents such as Mitch Johnson and later, James Faulkner have happened on the cricket pitch leading to ugly incidences. And one can’t help but turn a blind eye to watch happened over the last evening in the all important contest featuring RCB and the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Did you note the anger and the verbals involved and the batter in prime form having a thing or two to say to none other than Travis Head?

For if you didn’t follow that, then we have it covered for you. Delve deep into the following -

During the IPL match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Uppal Stadium on May 22, an interesting moment took place between Virat Kohli and Travis Head. The match was very important because both teams were fighting for a top-two spot in the IPL points table.

The incident happened during Shivang Kumar’s first over. Venkatesh Iyer was batting aggressively and hitting boundaries all around the ground.

As the bowler struggled, Kohli was seen talking and gesturing towards Travis Head, who was fielding at mid-wicket. Kohli appeared to be asking Head to come and bowl some off-spin.

The commentators also noticed the exchange and felt Kohli was jokingly telling Head, “Come and bowl.”

While Venkatesh continued attacking and scored 23 runs in the over, Kohli kept interacting with Head from the non-striker’s end. At one point, Kohli even waved Head away in a playful manner.

The moment looked like friendly banter between two competitive players.

Kohli showed his usual intensity, while Head smiled and nodded in response, making the exchange entertaining for fans. However, Kohli could not continue his innings for long. He struggled to score freely and was dismissed for 15 runs after hitting Sakib Hussain’s delivery straight to a cover fielder. Interestingly, Travis Head later came on to bowl in the 18th over and took the wicket of RCB captain Rajat Patidar with just his second ball.

But having said all the above, while getting angry and getting aggressive sometimes, but normal in the great game of Cricket, what needs to be understood is that was such over the top reaction from Virat Kohli even needed in a manner that he refuse to shake hands in the aftermath, it came to Travis Head?
