Fans couldn’t hold back their praise for fast bowler Arshdeep Singh as he picked two wickets against England in the first over. The Men in Blue were up against England in the second T20I at Manchester on Saturday, July 4. As the first game of the series got washed out, both teams were hoping to get an early control on the series. India, after opting to bat first, posted 190-7, riding on the back of Abhishek Sharma’s 43-off-24 and Ishan Kishan’s 49 off 40.

The Harry Brook side were aiming to take control of the game in the second innings as well. However, things didn’t go as planned and the Indian bowlers showed no mercy right from the first over. Arshdeep Singh struck first wicket for the side and dismissed Phil Salt on the first ball of the innings before dismissing wicketkeeper Jos Buttler on the second-last ball of the same over. Both players were forced to walk back on respective ducks, marking the first occasion where both England openers were dismissed for ducks in a T20I innings.

However, skipper Harry Brook seemed to have gotten the side some stability by hitting 26 runs in a single over against Arshdeep Singh. But even Brook’s stay on the crease didn’t last long and he was forced to walk back at 39 giving India a major breakthrough.
