A couple of days, if someone had said that KL Rahul would become the 3rd batsman in IPL history with 150+ score, you would have not believed it. KL Rahul is always criticized as a slow batsman and not the kind of batter who can go berserk in a T20 match with intent from very first go and that is exactly what KL Rahul achieved today against PBKS bowlers. In the scorching Delhi Heat he simply played the best innings of his life scoring 152* off 67 balls toying with the PBKS bowlers and becoming the only Indian batsman with highest score in IPL.

It was just not an ordinary century that KL posted here. It was an answer back to the cynics and trollers and also against a strong PBKS bowling lineup consisting of Arshdeep Singh, Marco Jansen, Xavier Bartlett, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Marcus Stoinis. Fans were elated and surprised by this side of KL Rahul’s willow and couldn’t stop reacting on twitter.

Some couldn’t stop from pointing out KL’s slow innings in World Cup for India:

ā€œThis innings is special for meā€ says KL Rahul

KL Rahul was in a different zone in the field today. It is not that everyday you enter the elite list. DC is on 6th spot in table and PBKS is one of the strongest and balanced teams of IPL 2026, but KL Rahul single handedly took things on a different turn. After being dropped by Sashank Singh, there was no turning back, KL scored a ton in just 47 deliveries with 12 fours and 6 sixes. He didn’t stop at just scoring a 100 but went all guns blazing, taking on the PBKS bowlers to dissect the field further. Nitish Rana built a partnership with him to take DC’s score to 264.

After the match, KL Rahul said, ā€œI’m obviously happy. My strength is to play proper cricket, and I was trying to back that and take my team past 250, and I continued with that. This is indeed a very special innings for me, and I want to thank Nitish Rana for playing a great innings.ā€
