Ederson Moraes, a 31-year-old Brazilian international, plays as a goalkeeper for Pep Guardiola's Manchester City. He has made more than 370 appearances for Man City in which he has managed to maintain around 168 clean sheets. Ederson became the second-most expensive goalkeeper of all-time when he signed for Manchester City for a reported deal worth £35m, sitting only behind the former Italian legend Gianluigi Buffon.
Ederson has not been the first-choice goalkeeper for the Pe Guardiola-managed side for some time now, which is why he is reportedly open to make a move to another club. According to latest reports, the Turkish giants Fenerbahce who have recently parted ways with their Head Coach Jose Mourinho have reached a verbal agreement with Manchester City over the signing of the Brazilian international. Fenerbahce have agreed a deal worth €13m with Man City, as per Fabrizio Romano. The arch-rivals of Fenerbahce, Galatasaray were also involved in the race to sign the goalkeeper but, it is Fenerbahce who are currency leading the race.
Ederson’s departure to boost City’s chances of signing Gianluigi Donnarumma from PSG: Reports
Fenerbahce are aiming for the League title this season after failing to qualify for the Champions League as they lost to Benfica 1-0 in the play-offs. Fenerbahce are looking to bring new reinforcements into all departments of the team. With their new Head Coach not being announced yet, Ederson could become a reliable goalkeeper that the team can count upon.
Initially, Man City were adamant on their €15m valuation for Ederson and rejected bids from other clubs who could not match their evaluation. However, the Super Lig team Fenerbahce came up with improved terms in the deal which Man City found reasonable and have proceeded with the deal. This deal will also be helpful for the Cityzens to immediately purchase Gianluigi Donnarumma from PSG as replacement for Ederson before the transfer window comes to an end. Donnarumma will be the second goalkeeping addition to the squad after City have already signed James Trafford from Burnley.
