Gianluigi Donnarumma, the 26-year-old Italian goalkeeper has been the talk of the town since the time the Champions League winners PSG released him. He played a crucial role in PSG winning the Ligue 1 title yet again, but failed to be manager's first-pick. However, he was sidelined from the squad with the arrival of PSG’s new goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier from Lille, who started in the UEFA Super Cup against Tottenham, which they won in penalties.

While Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City had been keeping an eye on the Italian goalkeeper since the time he was available on the transfer market, City have reportedly is looking to complete the signing of the 26-year-old on the deadline day, as per Fabrizio Romano. The transfer fee of the deal is reportedly worth €30m with additional add-ons included.

Donnarumma completes medical in Italy and will join City after international break: Reports

The 26-year-old has reportedly completed his medical in Italy and will join Pep Guardiola’s squad following the end of international break. The Italian international will be the second goalkeeping addition this summer following the signing of James Trafford from Burnley. Pep Guardiola is deeply impressed by the skillsets of Donnarumma and knows the value he will add to the squad. This deal was made possible after Man City’s former first-choice, Ederson reportedly completed his signing with Fenerbahce.

Man City started the season with a blazing 4-0 victory against Wolves. However, they have suffered back-to-back defeats since then against Tottenham and Brighton. They will be looking forward to the strong presence of Donnarumma in the squad, while the Italian will look to continue the same momentum from PSG under the guidance of Pep Guardiola.
