Super Sunday came to an end as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) beat Mumbai Indians (MI) by eight wickets to kick off their campaign at IPL 2023 in style. After restricting MI to 171/7, RCB chased down the total with 28 balls to spare. Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis were the stars for RCB as both batters scored half-centuries. While du Plessis got out after a well-made 73, Kohli finished the game and went back to the dressing room after scoring an unbeaten 82.

Glenn Maxwell also hit two sixes off just three balls to help RCB’s cause. Meanwhile, MI looked clueless with both bat and ball in hand. Although Tilak Varma propelled MI to 171/7, the other batters looked dull. With the ball, MI could do nothing but bow down before Kohli and Faf. It was a breakthrough only when du Plessis and Dinesh Karthik made mistakes.

Nevertheless, MI captain Rohit Sharma hoped for his team to make a comeback. Meanwhile, Twitter was flooded with reactions from fans after this comprehensive win from RCB. While some took a dig at MI, some wanted Kohli to score a century.
