Delhi Police have revealed that the individual who delivered a life-threatening mail to Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir has been identified as Jigneshsinh Parmar based in Gujarat. On April 23, Gambhir received a life-threatening mail including three words “I KILL YOU.” After receiving the mail, Gambhir’s team filed an FIR to safeguard the cricketer and his family’s security. Before getting the mail, the 43-year-old World Cup 2011 champion displayed solidarity with Pahalgam terror attack victims through a tweet on X.
Revealing the details of the intimidator, Delhi Police said the man is a 21-year-old engineering student from Gujarat and the further scrutiny of the case is in progress. "In connection with the threat e-mail to cricketer Gautam Gambhir, the individual who sent the mail has been identified as 21 year old Jigneshsinh Parmar hailing from Gujarat. He has been caught by Central District Police team and interrogated in detail. He is an engineering student whose family has claimed he is suffering from mental health issues. Further investigation is in progress," said Delhi Police, as quoted by ANI.
Gautam Gambhir will be expected to deliver solid results as head coach in England
Gautam Gambhir has done a decent job for India as head coach in white-ball format but in the longer form of the sport, he is yet to prove himself in the role. In the upcoming five-match Test series against England, his responsibility will be to extract impactful results from his players to help Team India win a Test series on English soil after 18 years.
Rohit Sharma, who didn’t have a great time as captain and batter in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 held in Australia, will be leading Team India against Ben Stokes and co. Before hosting India, England will play a Test match against Zimbabwe at Trent Bridge from May 22.
