1. MI: 142 wins in 261 matches
MI have played 261 games in the league and have tasted 142 times which take their victory percentage to 54.40. Back in 2013, they won their maiden title under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy after beating Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the final of the sixth IPL edition played at the iconic Eden Gardens.
2. CSK: 138 wins in 239 matches
CSK have won 138 games in 239 outings which help them to possess the win percentage of 57.74 %. They have won all five titles under their veteran MS Dhoni’s leadership. Their last trophy win came in 2023 when they beat Gujarat Titans in the intriguing last-ball final held in Ahmedabad.
3. KKR: 130 wins in 252 matches
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) hold the record of win percentage of 51.58 with their 130 triumphs in 252 games. They registered their best performances in the league in 2012, 2014, and 2024 when they lifted the coveted trophy. Gautam Gambhir, who is Team India head coach currently, delivered two titles as captain to the franchise.
4. RCB: 121 wins in 256 matches
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are in the fourth spot on the chart with 121 victories in 256 games. Discussing their success percentage, it’s 47.26 after IPL 2024. In 2016, they performed exceptionally under Virat Kohli’s captaincy and reached the final, but fell eight runs short against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
5. DC: 112 wins in 252 matches
Delhi Capitals (DC) are one of eight teams who have been active in the league since 2008, but are yet to win the title. Talking about their success in the cash-rich T20 tournament, they have emerged victorious 112 times off 252 outings. Their victory percentage is 44.44 until 2025.
