Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa shared the news of being blessed with a baby as he posted a photo of his newborn child on Instagram story. Meanwhile, Zampa captioned the photo as ‘Eugene’ on his story which is probably the name of his child.

The leg Adam Zampa spinner decided to sit out for the ongoing limited-overs series against Sri Lanka as he was waiting for the birth of the child and is likely to be back in Australia’s next limited-overs tour. Zampa has been one of the top performers in the last few years for Australia in the white-ball format and has been a vital cog in numerous memorable wins.

Adam Zampa has played 67 ODIs and 62 T20Is for Australia and has picked up 103 and 71 wickets respectively in both formats. He has an incredible economy rate of 6.79 in T20 internationals and has been a menace for the best batters around in the world.

Australia missed Adam Zampa in their recent fixture against Sri Lanka, where the Aussies suffered a four-wicket loss. Sri Lanka captain Dashun Shanaka smashed 54 runs in 25 balls with five fours and four sixes. The 30-year-old helped the home team chase down the target of 177 with one ball to spare.

Addressing the win and his match-winning knock, Shanaka said, “I took a few balls to get in. I read the wicket well, so I didn't throw my wicket away. Process is always important. They took a brave decision to bat first, it wasn't the best idea to bat first in these conditions. We should take this momentum in the ODI series moving forward.”

“I think we have all the bases covered," Finch

But unfortunately, Sri Lanka lost the T20I series 2-1 as the visitors dominated in the first two games. Aussie captain Aaron Finch won the Player of the Series award as he scored 114 runs with an average of 57.00 with a strike rate of 156.16

Talking about the final game of the tour, Finch said, “I think we have all the bases covered, it was an unbelievable knock by Shanaka tonight. We thought the pitch slowed a bit towards the back end of our innings. It didn't make much of a difference, batting first or second on this wicket. We are really comfortable with the depth of our team.”
