As IPL 2022 is all set to welcome two new teams, all the focus has been on them in last few days. One one side, RPSG Group owned franchise have been quite active as they announced their franchise name as Lucknow Super Giants few days back. However, there had been no information yet from the camp of other franchise, which was bought by CVC Capital.
Hardik Pandya has been announced as captain of the team based in Ahmedabad, with Rashid Khan and Shubman Gill as the other two draft picks. While Aashish Nehra is set to be the head coach of the team, Gary Kirsten has been roped in as mentor (batting coach) and Vikram Solanki as the Director of Cricket.
And now, the team finally has a name as well according to reports! It must be noted that Ahmedabad Titans has reportedly been revealed as the name of new franchise. However, it must be noted that an official announcement on the same has not yet happened and there is no confirmation on the new name of franchise, by the owners, as of now.
Recently, it had also been revealed that franchise captain Hardik Pandya is all set to miss the upcoming season of Ranji Trophy in order to be fully-fit and available for his franchise in IPL 2022.
After joining the franchise, Hardik had also shared a message for his fans. In a video shared by him on social media, he had said, "Hello Ahmedabad, super excited to start this new journey in the new IPL team - Ahmedabad. Just wanted to take this opportunity to thank the owners, the management for putting their faith in me as a captain, obviously."

He had added, "It's a new era for us and I am excited for what lies ahead. Well, I can promise you is that this team will always fight and give their all. A big welcome to Rashid and Shubman as well, two players whom I know extremely well and will bring a lot to our table. See you soon."
