Alejandro Garnacho, the Argentinian winger, is reportedly set to leave Manchester United in the summer transfer window after ending the 2024-25 season in controversial circumstances. The 20-year-old was critical of manager Ruben Amorim after the latter decided to not start him in the UEFA Europa League (UEL) final, following which he was dropped from the matchday squad against Aston Villa for the last Premier League match of the season.

In his post-match interview after Manchester United lost to Tottenham Hotspur in the UEL final 1-0, Alejandro Garnacho was quoted as saying, as per BBC Sport, “Up until the final I played every round helping the team, and today I play 20 minutes, I don't know. The final will influence [my decision] but the whole season, the situation of the club. I'm going to try to enjoy the summer and see what happens afterwards.” After that, Ruben Amorim reportedly ousted him from the team, dropping him for the Premier League match suggests so.

At the same time, Alejandro Garnacho did feature in the matchday squads for Manchester United’s recently concluded post-season tour to Asia.

Alejandro Garnacho wants to stay in Premier League with three clubs keen for his signature

But now, just a couple of weeks after Alejandro Garnacho’s criticism of Ruben Amorim, in one of his latest posts on the official X account, Fabrizio Romano, the Italian journalist, broke the news that the Argentine will leave Manchester United with him and the club agreeing on parting ways. At the same time, he further reported that Alejandro Garnacho wants to stay in the Premier League with three clubs keen for his signature.

Fabrizio Romano also stated that Bayer Leverkusen and Italian clubs are also interested in the services of Alejandro Garnacho. With Erik ten Hag becoming the new manager of the German outfit, under whom the Argentinian made a name for himself in Manchester United colours, the move can be a possibility, but the transfer fee and wages might end up being a stumbling block in regards to the deal going through.
