With the five-match Test series currently standing 2-1 in favour of the hosts, England, the visiting side, Team India will hope to put all things right in the upcoming fourth Test, scheduled to be played from July 23 onwards at the Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester. While the Indian team will have a lot to ponder upon seeing Jasprit Bumrah’s workload management and Rishabh Pant’s injury concerns.

However, a clarity on both is still awaited from the Indian team management, assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate recently shared an update on star Indian wicketkeeper-batter, hinting at him to play as a pure batter. It is to be noted that Pant sustained a finger injury in the third Test at Lord’s and did not keep the wickets following that. With the bat, he scored 74 and nine runs respectively across the two innings.

But days ahead of the fourth Test in Manchester, Team India has been handed another jolt as star pacer, Arshdeep Singh sustained a cut on his hand while bowling in the nets. With videos of Arshdeep roaming with a bandaged hand going viral on social media, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly added star Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bowler Anshul Kamboj as his cover.

“Arshdeep has a deep cut and has had stitched, he will take at least ten days to get completely fit. The selectors have decided to add Kamboj in the squad,” a BCCI source said, as quoted by Indian Express. It is to be noted that Kamboj was part of India A squad last month. He took five wickets in the two matches. Overall, he boasts of 79 wickets from 24 First-Class matches for Haryana.
