Pakistan registered a dominant seven-wicket win to beat Bangladesh in the first game of the Super 4s stage of the Asia Cup 2023. Playing Lahore's Gadafi Stadium, Bangladesh opted to bat first but quickly regretted the decision, courtesy of Naseem Shah and Shaheen Shah Afridi.

These two fast bowlers ran through the Bangladesh top four and reduced the Tigers to 47-4 in 9.1 overs. With the team struggling, Shakib-al-Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim steadied the ship and posted a 100-run partnership. But after Rahim and Shakib's wickets, Pakistan once again asserted dominance.
Haris Rauf cleaned up the tail with assistance from Faheem Ashraf and Agha Salman, Bangladesh was bundled out for 193 in 38.4 overs. In the second innings, Pakistan built on the momentum and zoomed forward as Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Rizwan scored crucial 50s to register a comfortable seven-wicket win.
