Hardik Singh and Mandeep Singh were the first two goalscorers before Lalit Upadhyay joined as India decimated the South Korean in the first 15 minutes. But just two minutes into the second quarter, South Korea's Jung Manjae, found the back of the net, before doubling their tally with another incredible strike in the 20th minute.
But bringing back India into the game, Amit Rohidas strengthened the lead with a 24th-minute goal. Hardik injected the ball through and found Amit, who was on the second battery and flicked it into the goal. India's free-flowing attack was soon hindered as defender Varun Kumar was injured off the field.
With this injury, there was a slight shift in momentum for the Indian team as South Korea found their third goal as Jung Manjae completed his hat trick in the 42nd minute. But as the match neared its final moments, forward Abhishek smashed an incredible goal to reinstate a two-goal lead for India. The Koreans pulled off all the tricks out of the bag but couldn't find the final two goals and suffered a 5-3 win.
