Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim was involved in a bizarre dismissal in the third ODI against New Zealand at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. Batting first, the hosts got off to a poor start after losing their openers at the score of eight. But Najmul Hossain Shanto held the innings from one end as Bangladesh continued another batting collapse.
Coming in at number 5, Mushfiqur Rahim attempted to steady the ship and scored 18 in 24 balls with two sixes. But as he took on Lockie Ferguson in the 16th over, Rahim took an inside edge which was headed towards the stumps. Here the wicketkeeper-batter attempted to kick away the ball before it eventually hit the stumps. Unfortunately for Rahim, he lost his balance and kicked the stumps in the process.

After this bizarre wicket, Bangladesh's poor batting effort continued as they were bundled out at the score of 171. Shanto ended up as the top scorer with his 76-run knock in 84 balls with 10 fours. But after losing the captain, Bangladesh’s tail quickly fell apart and were all out in 34.3 overs.
For the Kiwis, Adam Milne was the top performer with a four-wicket haul in 6.3 overs. While Trent Boult and Cole McConchie chipped in with two wickets each. Talking about the series, New Zealand have an unassailable lead after winning the second game by 86 runs.
