The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has appointed former Australian international Shaun Tait as the new pace bowling coach of their men’s team until November 2027, when the ICC Cricket World Cup will come to a close that year. The 42-year-old has already been a part of Pakistan, West Indies, and Afghanistan men’s cricket teams as their pace bowling coach over the past few years during his professional career thus far.

As per the report from Cricbuzz, Shaun Tait took the Bangladesh job because he feels that their national team is on the upward curve, especially mentioning their fast bowlers, who have done well on the international scene. Apart from that, the Australian also looked forward to working with Bangladesh head coach Phil Simmons, which ultimately persuaded him to take up the role.

It's a good time to be involved with the Bangladesh cricket team right now: Shaun Tait

Shaun Tait was quoted as saying about joining Bangladesh as their pace bowling coach, as per Cricbuzz, “It's a good time to be involved with the Bangladesh cricket team right now, a bit of a new era if you like. It's been spoken about many times recently-the young talent with the fast bowlers-which is great. This is international cricket, not a development team, and everyone expects the talent to bring results, which is very much my focus with the fast bowling group and most importantly, getting more wins for the team.”

“To have the opportunity to work with Phil Simmons is equally as exciting and I'm looking forward to the journey ahead,” he added. Moreover, Shaun Tait has replaced Andre Adams to take the Bangladesh pace bowling coach role after the latter had joined Bangladesh in March 2024 before being a part of their ICC T20 World Cup 2024 and ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign.
