The matchday 13 clash between Bayern Munich and Union Berlin in the Bundesliga, set to take place on Saturday, December 2, at the Allianz Arena, has been called off due to heavy snowfall in the city of Munich overnight. The official statement on the Bundesliga website stated that the match “has been postponed due to inclement weather in Bavaria.”

Bayern Munich, the reigning Bundesliga champions, who are two points behind the league leaders Bayer Leverkusen, will have to wait at least one week to try and close the gap on the points table. Since there is no clear information yet about when the Bayern Munich versus Union Berlin match will be played, the Bavarians could have eight days off to start the month of December, which is otherwise a very busy month in club football.

Apart from Bundesliga, Bayern Munich are currently participating in the UEFA Champions League in Group A with teams like Manchester United, Galatasaray, and Copenhagen. After five matches in the group stage of the UCL, the Bavarians are through to the knockout stages of the competition, despite the fact they had to settle for a 0-0 draw against Copenhagen at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday, November 29.
