In the 22nd match of the 2025 IPL season, Chennai Super Kings and the Punjab Kings faced off each other at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium on April 8. A solid batting performance from young maestro Priyansh Arya secured a 18-run victory for the Punjab Kings. After winning the toss and deciding to bat first, the Punjab Kings were at a low score of 94/5 in the 10th over, with little hope from the fans for a big score. But 24-year-old Priyansh Arya had other plans as he skyrocketed the Punjab innings by scoring 103 off 42 balls and taking the team total to 219.
CSK tried their best to chase down this big total set by Punjab’s one-man army but their efforts went in vain as they fell short of 18 runs. Conway scored an impactful half-century with Shivam Dube and Rachin Ravindra adding some handy runs. Even MS Dhoni was promoted up the order to orchestrate a chase for Chennai but he could only manage to put up 27 on the board from 12 deliveries before getting dismissed.
