Former India Head coach Ravi Shastri reacted to Virat Kohli’s retirement from Test cricket. The 36-year-old called off his red–ball career via Instagram post on the morning of May 12. Ravi Shastri was India’s Head coach from 2017 to 2021 with Virat Kohli as captain. The captain coach duo was known for their aggressive approach, especially in Test cricket and played crucial roles in India’s historic Test series win in Australia in 2018-19. “Can’t believe you are done. You are a modern-day GIANT and were a fantastic ambassador for Test match cricket in every way you played and captained. Thank you for the lasting memories you’ve given to everyone, and to me in particular. It’s something I will cherish for life. Go well, champ. God bless,” Shastri wrote on his X post.

Former Australian cricketer David Warner also shared a special post for Virat Kohli after star Indian batter’s retirement from Test cricket. Warner, who retired from international cricket inn 2024 hailed Kohli for his illustrious Test career and mentioned him as one of his greatest competitor.
