The latest saga going around in the world of football is the future of Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti. The Italian tactician had a contract till June 2026 at the Bernabeu but there has been an increasing speculation that Ancelotti will leave Real Madrid at the end of the current season after what has been a rather underwhelming season by the club’s standards. Carlo is reported to be on the top of the list for the Brazil football federation, who is looking to bring him in before the 2026 FIFA World Cup. And recent reports are suggesting that the Brazilian football federation will offer a big-money contract to Ancelotti, which will make him one of the highest paid national team coaches in history.
The Brazil national team has been going through a turbulent period in recent times as it has suffered multiple setbacks in major competitions and has sacked many different coaches in short timespans. Before the upcoming 2026 World Cup, the Brazil football federation wants to hire a top coach who can lead the team to a successful campaign in the tournament and their eyes are fixated on Carlo Ancelotti. With this given speculation about his future at Madrid, it seems like it is only a matter of time before Ancelotti takes over the Brazil national team.

With the reported departure of Ancelotti nearing, the number one candidate to replace him is Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso. While there are no official statements from any party, it is expected that Alonso will take rein at the Bernabeu in the 2025-26 pre-season. As for Ancelotti, he is expected to leave after the current LaLiga campaign concludes.
This would leave Real Madrid without a head coach during the FIFA Club World, scheduled in June, where Santiago Solari is expected to take charge as an interim manager.
