The latest saga of Carlo Ancelotti’s future seems to be never-ending as there have been some shocking developments around his possible move to the Brazil national team. It was initially being reported by a lot of top journalists that Ancelotti was set to leave Real Madrid at the end of the current season and join the Brazil national team in prep for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. It was also reported that he would actually become the highest paid national team manager with the new deal that the Brazilian football federation was offering him.

However, latest reports seem to suggest that Ancelotti’s deal with Brazil might be on the verge of collapse. It is being said that Real Madrid are blocking Carlo’s move to South America as they are refusing to pay an exit fee for Ancelotti’s remaining salary. Ancelotti’s current contract with Los Blancos runs until 2026 and the club was reported to pay a full exit fee to release him a year earlier. In the light of all of this, the Brazil football federation is reported to becoming restless about the move not progressing any further and might set an ultimatum soon to arrive at a decision.

Madrid are still alive in La Liga title race with five games remaining

Ancelotti still has five games left to salvage a trophy this season as Madrid are four points behind FC Barcelona in the La Liga title race. With another El Clasico on the cards, Madrid have a chance to overturn this deficit and possibly fight for the domestic title. Reports had suggested that Ancelotti was expected to leave post the LaLiga matches but now the future remains uncertain.

Fresh rumours have been that if Ancelotti manages to lead Real Madrid to the La Liga title, the club will consider having him on board beyond this current season. While Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso was tipped to take over the club after Ancelotti’s departure, it will be interesting to see what this saga leads to finally.
