In the last over of the powerplay, the CSK opener Devon Conway took Marco Jansen of SRH to the cleaners and registered 4,4,6,4,4 at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The carnage ensued during Chennai Super Kings’ pursuit of 135 run target against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

This over from Marco Jansen began calmly as Ruturaj Gaikwad dabbed the ball towards the point fielder to take a quick single to put his opening partner on strike. On the second ball of the over, Devon Conway got inside the line of a short ball from Jansen and ramped it past the diving short fine leg fielder for a four. The next ball was a bit fuller from Jansen, but Conway had already made up his mind to ramp again and took it off the stumps to get it over the man at short fine for one more four.

For the fourth delivery of the over, SRH fast bowler hit the pitch hard and got extra bounce, but the CSK opening batter was lucky to get a top edge off his bat on the pull stroke and the ball flew over the fine leg boundary for a very fortunate six. Jansen changed his plan for the next ball of the over and bowled length outside the off stump, but Conway was ready for the challenge and gently deflected the ball between the keeper and short third man fielder to get yet another four.

The last ball of the over from Marco Jansen was quite similar to the previous one, but this time, Devon Conway decided to play the late cut between the two fielders at short third to get 4 fours in 5 deliveries.

Eventually, Devon Conway stayed not out and finished up with 77 off 57 deliveries including 12 fours and 1 six. He ensured that CSK chased down the 134 total set by SRH with 7 wickets in hand at Chepauk.
