India’s modern-day icon Virat Kohli bowled to Shubman Gill during the nets session ahead of their clash against England at the ODI World Cup 2023. India are coming on the back of five consecutive wins in the ongoing season of the ICC event. After opening their campaign against five-time champions, Australia in the World Cup 2023, India, under the leadership of Rohit Sharma went on to defeat Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh before they took down New Zealand in their recent fixture.

The 2023 hosts will now face reigning champions England in their next fixture at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on October 29, Sunday. Ahead of their forthcoming clash, the 1983 and 2011 champions sweated it out in the net practice session. Star batters including Virat Kohli and rising hero of Indian cricket team Shubman Gill were few of the members who worked on their shots. Not only this, but Kohli was also seen bowling to Gill before the big clash.
The pictures from the practice session went viral on social media in no time. Speaking of England, the 2019 winners delivered a below-par performance during their clash against Sri Lanka on October 26, Thursday. The Jos Buttler side recorded their third consecutive defeat in the current season of the marquee event.
More about the Indian squad, all-rounder Hardik Pandya’s participation in the upcoming matches of the tournament is in jeopardy due to a suspected Ligament 1 injury. However, Pandya is almost certain to miss India's match against England on October 29 and Sri Lanka match on November 2.
