Truth be told, it's a bit of a shame that Dinesh Karthik was not able to have long legs in his international career and certainly deserved to have played the game he so loves for a lot longer than he did. But today, the fans, the critics and even past and contemporary players observing the game hold his judgement and understanding of the game dearly. His analysis and verdict on international contests are subjected to regard and treated seriously. And having said so, do you know what was the most interesting recent thing about Dinesh Karthik? It is that he was then only expert pannelist, among the other celebrated names commentating on the recent Tests, who had the call on the series' verdict absolutely right.

Dinesh Karthik calling the right call!

Before the start of the recent India v England Test series, it was Dinesh Karthik who, when asked about his particular prediction on the series, happened to have said- that the outcome will be 2-2 tied in the end. And guess what? Upon the completion of the recent Fifth and final test match at The Oval, it was Dinesh Karthik's pre-series prediction that was revisited and once again, with much respect.

Of course, Karthik, who has played 26 Tests, 94 one dayers and not to forget, 60 T20Is for India from which he scored some nearly 3,000 international runs, was commentating among the luminaries from the world of cricket commentary, including the likes of Nasser Hussain, Sunny Gavaskar, Ravi Shastri, Stuart Broad, Mike Atherton among the others. But Karthik's subtle analysis, smoothly delivered by always upholding the aspects like grace and calmness, stood bright and shone well for India and England. He was, as always, graceful and respectful of the competition that was there in England and in the end, like countless fans who love the game, sported the biggest smile when it was found out that the series ended not with India concedeing a series defeat. But at level with England at 2-2.
