Punjab Kings (PBKS) skipper Shreyas Iyer has said he would not like to curse his away form and continue his job, living in present, and responding to the deliveries bowled to him accordingly. In the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 game between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and PBKS at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on April 30, Shreyas looked sensational with his bat and played a match-winning knock of 72 off just 41 with nine boundaries (five fours and four maximums). Riding on his fourth league fifty, PBKS chased down a target of 191 in 19.4 overs. The 30-year-old also became the recipient of the player of the match (POTM) award.
Following the game, Shreyas Iyer appeared in the post-match presentation and discussed his superb run with his bat in away matches. “I love chasing on any field. I feel like I thrive whenever there is a big total on the board and you need to take the charge and momentum for the team for the rest of the batters to come and go full throttle,” said Iyer. He also added, “I don’t want to curse it (form in away games) and just stay in the present and reacting to the ball. It doesn’t matter where I am playing. I just play with my approach. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t."
PBKS promoted to 2nd spot in points table
PBKS’ victory over Chennai has now placed them in the second spot on the points tally with six wins and three losses. Their next clash will be against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala on May 4.
Talking about CSK, they are now officially out of the playoffs race as this was their eighth defeat in the competition. With the latest loss, they have become the first team to get eliminated from the competition. The Yellow Army will now play for pride in their next four matches
