With the five-match Test series currently underway in the United Kingdom, the action has come down to the final Test, which is being played at the Kennington Oval in London. For the unversed, the home side, England won the toss and elected to field first on Thursday, July 31. The decision from England's stand-in captain Ollie Pope brought positives as England removed six Indian batters on the opening day with Gus Atkinson and Josh Tongue picking two wickets each, while Chris Woakes got the prized wicket of KL Rahul.

However, Yashavi Jaiswal was removed at the score of two, KL Rahul was dismissed for the score of 14. Sai Sudharshan, who was reinstated in the side after missing the second and third Test, also was dismissed for a 108-ball 38. Shubman Gill, the skipper of the Indian red-ball setup, also was dismissed at the score of 21 in a bizarre run-out by Gus Atkinson.
