The Formula 1 2022 championship has now entered its last leg as it heads to Brazil. While Max Verstappen has already been crowned as the champion for the second consecutive time, Red Bull are all set to lift the Championship.

However, it hasn't been a season for seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton and his team Mercedes. But McLaren has had a better season than the previous year. The McLaren is currently standing fifth with 146 points heading into the Brazilian GP 2022. But ahead of this race, the UK-based automotive company has been handed a major blow. Their star driver Lando Norris might miss the Brazilian Grand Prix 2022 after suffering from food poisoning.

In a social media post, McLaren confirmed, “Lando is feeling unwell with suspected food poisoning, so he will rest in the hotel today. We expect him back at track tomorrow.”

However, the team seems optimistic on his return ahead of the crucial  race, they are also looking at potential replacement. Notably, D utch driver Nyck de Vries is highly likely to take his seat with him being the only reserve.

Nyck de Vries is all set to race alongside Yuki Tsunoda at AlphaTauri for 2023 season. He replaces Pierre Gasly at AlphaTauri, who joins Aston Martin as Fernando Alonso’s replacement for 2023 season.
