The third edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) kickstarted at the newly constructed Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara on Friday, February 14. In the opening match, defending champions, Royal Challengers Benglauru (RCB) Women got the better of Gujarat Giants to begin their tournament on a high.
While the match had its own factors, a group of fans were spotted quarreling in the stadium premises on the sidelines of the match. In the video going viral on social media, a fan dressed in a white shirt was seen enraged over an unknown thing, while others tried to pull him away and tried to explain or reason him.

As the conflict broke out in one of the stands, the police officers who were deployed for the match, were also seen making their way into this area to get the situation under control. However, during this quarrel none of the suspects were harmed or injured, but the video has been making rounds on social media.

Speaking of the WPL 2025 season opener, defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Women started their campaign in style as they defeated Gujarat Giants (GG) by six wickets at the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. After GG got past 200 runs on the back of a six-fest from their captain Ashleigh Gardner, it was Richa Ghosh’s magnificent fifty, which helped RCB get across the line with nine balls to spare.
The Smriti Mandhana-led RCB Women will next take on Delhi Capitals (DC) Women on Monday, February 17, the Gujarat Giants will lock horns with UP Warriorz on Sunday, February 16.
