The Rohit Sharma-led Team India is taking on Pakistan in the highly anticipated clash of the T20 World Cup 2024. The match is being played at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. India entered this match on the back of 6-1 head-to-head record in T20 World Cup with Pakistan coming out victorious only once till date.
Earlier in the match, which saw a rain delay, Pakistan skipper Babar Azam won the toss and invited the inaugural T20 champions to bat first. After several breaks, India saw the two openers depart cheaply at the score of 13 and 4 respectively. However, Rishabh Pant anchored the inning with a 42-run knock, Axar Patel too played an 18-ball 20 to help post 119 in the 19 overs.
However, this did not look sufficient for the Men in Blue, fans took to social media lambasting the Indian batters for their dismal performance with the bat. While some specifically called out Suryakumar Yadav, who tops the list of T20I batters list, a few others questioned the batting collapse from 81/3 to 119 all out.
