Faris Moumbagna and Jean Onana, the Cameroonian footballers, reportedly escaped an attack from carjackers after their trip to the Stade Oceane to play for Marseille against Le Havre in Ligue 1. It has been revealed that Moumbagna and Onana were returning home when the carjackers shot their car with multiple bullets, but fortunately, the players were not hit.

As per the X account of Afrykanski Futbol, the attack on Faris Moumbagna and Jean Onana happened in the southern part of Marseille. The car in which the Cameroonian footballers were travelling, had multiple bullet holes in it, while the attackers managed to run away from the crime scene.

There is no further information on the situation as of this writing, but the statements from the players and the club are expected in due course.

Moreover, as far as the Ligue 1 clash between Le Havre and Marseille was concerned, the crowd at the Stade Oceane were treated to a quality performance from both sets of players. After the first half was goalless, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang opened the scoring for the visitors Marseille in the 64th minute before Michael Amir Murillo doubled their lead in the 77th minute.

The consolation goal for the hosts Le Havre came in the 97th minute through Mohamed Bayo, but they didn’t have much time afterwards to level the scoring. The game finished two 2-1 in favour of Marseille, who ended the Ligue 1 season in 8th place, while Le Havre escaped the drop in 15th place on the points table.
