Moise Kean, the Fiorentina striker, has been discharged from the hospital, getting some tests done after collapsing suddenly on the pitch at the Stadio Marcantonio Bentegodi during a Serie A clash against Hellas Verona on Sunday, February 23. The Italian suffered a blow to his head after undergoing a collision with the knee of Hellas Verona defender Pawel Dawidowicz, and shortly after, he was taken off the field due to a sudden collapse, which led to Fiorentina losing the contest 0-1.
Notably, the collision between Moise Kean and Pawel Dawidowicz led to the former continuing to play for six more minutes before losing his balance and falling to the floor in the 64th minute. After receiving some treatment on the pitch with players of both teams watching on, he was taken to the hospital in Verona for some diagnostic tests, to check whether he got himself a concussion or not.
The clinical and diagnostic tests carried out were all negative: Fiorentina's statement on Moise Kean
As per the official statement from Fiorentina, Moise Kean was released from the hospital in Verona overnight after his diagnostic test results came through. They were quoted as saying, “ACF Fiorentina announces that Moise Kean was discharged from the Verona hospital during the night and returned to Florence. The clinical and diagnostic tests carried out were all negative.”
It is understood that Moise Kean could be available to play for Fiorentina against Lecce in their next Serie A clash at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on February 28. But, at the same time, there has been no confirmation made by Fiorentina regarding the same, which could mean that the club’s top-scorer with 15 goals this season might end up missing out on competitive action at the weekend.
Fiorentina are currently in sixth place in the Serie A with 42 points in 26 games, seven points behind Juventus in the final UCL qualifying spot from Italy.
