Gujarat Titans (GT) captain Shubman Gill looked exasperated after he was declared run out by the third umpire Michael Gough, in the 13th over of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 match between the 2022 champions and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). The GT skipper looked in sensational touch with his bat but his innings came to halt at his score of 76 which came in just 38 balls. On the final delivery of the 13th over, Jos Buttler played a stroke towards the short-fine leg against spinner Zeeshan Ansari. While stealing a run, both Buttler and Gill displayed alacrity but Harshal Patel also collected the ball and exhibited his agility. The SRH speedster didn’t waste time and threw the ball at the non-striker’s end, where wicket-keeper Heinrich Klaasen took the ball and dislodged the bails.

SRH appealed against Gill and the replays showed that the 25-year-old fell short of his crease when the stumps scintillated. However, confusion emerged as Klaasen’s gloves were near the stumps. The umpire went through the replays and delivered the decision against Gill. Shubman expressed his discontent and also argued with the fourth umpire. In a video getting viral, Gill can be seen screaming at one of the umpires, placed near the boundary line. Noting the young opener in anger, netizen are befuddled. An X user named Yash wrote, “First time seeing Shubman Gill so angry. #SRHvsGT #GTvsSRH #ShubmanGill #Anushka #BengaluruRains #RCBvsCSK.”

GT deliver a target of 225 to SRH

Riding on the excellent innings of Gill and Buttler (64 off 37), GT posted a massive total of 224/6 in their 20 overs. Along with both star international players, opener Sai Sudharsan also set a momentum for the side with his 48-run innings off just 23 deliveries. Washington Sundar, who came to bat at number four, also contributed with his 21 off 16.

From Sunrisers, Jaydev Unadkat bowled the most effective spell. The pacer registered 3/35 figures in his four-over spell. He grabbed all three wickets in the final over of the innings. Skipper Pat Cummins and Zeeshan Ansari also bagged one wicket apiece.
