Gabriel Jesus is a Brazilian International who plays as a striker for the English club Arsenal. The 28-year-old joined the Gunners on a five-year contract from their rivals Manchester City for a reported transfer fee of £45m in the year 2022. The Brazilian was a clinical goal-scorer for Arsenal. However, his career at Arsenal has been affected by the injuries he has come across due to which he has lost his place in the starting 11 of the team.
Gabriel Jesus will not be a part of the pre-season and first few matches of the season as he is sidelined from the team till the month of November. Some reports suggested that Brazilian team Flamengo were interested in signing the Brazilian forward from the Gunners. However, all such reports have been dismissed by Fabrizio Romano who has claimed that there have been no contacts between Flamengo and Arsenal over the signing of Jesus.
The signing of Viktor Gyokeres could affect the future of Gabriel Jesus at the club: Reports
While Arsenal have started their pre-season on a positive note after managing to defeat Newcastle 3-2. The Brazilian Striker was not a part of the squad as he is still recovering from a torn ACL which he suffered in January. However, his future with the North London club could be in danger as the Gunners have unveiled Viktor Gyokeres as their latest addition to the squad. The Swedish International from Sporting could potentially take up the place of Jesus in the team as both of them are centre-forwards.
Gabriel Jesus would be looking to recover soon and fight for his spot in the starting lineup. It is still to be seen if Gabriel Jesus is still an important part of the plan in Mikel Arteta’s tactics or if the addition of Gyokeres to the team will shift the dynamics of the team altogether. The transfer window is still open with the future of Gabriel Jesus at Arsenal still uncertain.
