On the auspicious occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti, the Indian cricketing fraternity extended their heartiest wishes on the social media platform X to everyone who is celebrating this festival. Some of the top cricketers, who sought the blessings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism and the first Sikh Guru, were Sachin Tendulkar, Yuvraj Singh, and Anil Kumble among others.

The festival of Guru Nanak Jayanti marks the birth of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, who was born in 1469 in Rai-Bhoi-di Talwandi, which is now known as Nankana Sahib, situated in the Punjab state of Pakistan. Known as one of the most revered and auspicious festivals in Sikhism, Guru Nanak Jayanti is generally celebrated with the “Akhand Path,” wherein the Guru Granth Sahib, the holy book, is read non-stop in Gurudwara for 48 hours.
Legendary Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh took to his official X handle and shared a story celebrating Guru Nanak Jayanti.
Anil Kumble, one of the greatest leg spin bowlers of all time, posted his wishes for Guru Nanak Jayanti on his official X account, which read, “May the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji fill your life with joy, peace, and prosperity. Happy Gurpurab to all!”
Yusuf Pathan, the former ODI World Cup winner wrote, “Wishing everyone a blessed and joyous Guru Nanak Jayanti!”
Jay Shah, the BCCI Secretary sent out his wishes on the auspicious occasion, which read, “Happy Guru Nanak Jayanti! On this auspicious day, let's celebrate the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, spreading love, compassion, and equality. May his wisdom guide us towards a path of peace and unity.”
Sachin Tendulkar shared an important message for the masses and wrote, “One of Guru Nanak’s great teachings is that everyone is equal irrespective of gender, caste and religion.”
