Hansi Flick has been one of the most successful managerial figures in modern football in recent times. Having won the iconic treble with Bayern Munich previously, Flick took on the challenge of managing Barcelona in a rather shaky time and has come out glorious to a great extent. Having come on board in July 2024, Flick has managed to get 40 wins from 53 matches till date and is averaging 2.38 points per match. Having already won two trophies with the club, Flick can actually achieve an historic quadruple with Barca who are still in contention for the Champions League and LaLiga.
Flick has always been a big admirer of the Blaugrana and has transformed the club with his phenomenal tactics and mentality shift. With his current contract running up until June 2026, it is being reported the club and its representatives including club President Joan Laporta are extremely delighted with Hansi Flick and will be hoping that he continues with the club for an even longer time. As per reports, Flick is expected to pen down a new deal in May which will keep him in Spain till 2027.
I’m very happy to be at Barcelona: Flick expresses delight over his first managerial season with Barca
During the recent pre-match conference before Barcelona’s match against Inter Milan in the Champions League semi-final, Flick was asked about his future to which he calmly replied by saying that he is loving his time at Barcelona and would be eager to continue. He said, “I am very happy to be at Barcelona, to work here, with the club, with the players, with the staff around us.”
Taking on Inter Milan tomorrow, Flick will be facing one of his toughest tests in the Champions League semi-final as he comes up against a disciplined defensive side groomed by Simone Inzaghi. Riding high on a victory against Real Madrid in the Copa Del Rey final, Flick will hope that his team can carry forward that momentum into this match as well.
